Rap to Recording
We were so pleased that professional Rap artist Kay Greyson was able to collaborate with HBF again this year, delivering a new series of workshops at 3 schools in Northumberland; NCEA Dukes Secondary School, Ashington, The Blyth Academy and Cramlington Learning Village.
All students were encouraged to create their own work, writing rhyming lyrics which they then recorded – if they wanted to – in front of their peers. Pieces can be listened to by clicking on each school below.

I feel incredibly lucky to have this festival on my doorstep. It is world class.
Hexham Book festival is a leading creative force in the Northumbrian cultural landscape, with a positive impact on the lives of so many. Locally based, outward-facing, brilliantly organised, and recognised by writers and readers as one of the attractive and dynamic literary festivals.
David Almond
Two words, absolutely fantastic. Really looking forward to next year!
