Join Ben Please and Beth Porter (Lost Words Spell Songs) as they bring their award-winning music to Hexham Book Festival.
Their 12-year career as The Bookshop Band began as an artist collaboration with an independent bookshop and has since seen them travel the world’s bookshops and stages with their music.
They have worked with authors including Margaret Atwood, Philip Pullman, Hilary Mantel and Louis de Bernières and their celebrated body of work is inspired by hundreds of books. Last year their music received nods from the Oscars, the BAFTAs and an Ivor Novello Nomination and they were spotted by Pete Townshend who then collaborated on the band’s 15th album, due later this year.
Includes interval and, for Friends of HBF, a glass of wine.
“Really fabulous new music… I think this is the most wonderful project, just delightful” – Bob Harris BBC Radio 2
