Company Information & Policies

HBF is a Not For Profit, Community Interest Company led by Susie Troup (Creative Director) and Gil Pugh (Festival Manager). The Festival works closely with volunteers and freelance specialists to deliver a dynamic and varied programme of events, which now includes Storyland – a Family Day, and Schools’ Fest. The organisation is supported by the staff and management of Queen’s Hall Arts with who we have a strong partnership.

In the last ten years the company has managed an extended year-round programme of work supported by Northumberland County Council working with libraries, schools and other organisations across the county.

The Festival is supported by numerous local businesses and private sponsors with outreach projects benefiting from support from Trusts and Foundations (see our thanks page).

Everyone Welcome: The Festival welcomes visitors with disabilities and aims to ensure that your visit is safe and enjoyable. If you require help, please contact us in advance. Companions of wheelchair users may attend events free of charge. Guide dogs are welcome in all areas of the building.
