Who We Are

We are a small team supported by an advisory group and many wonderful volunteers.

HBF is a Not For Profit, Community Interest Company established in 2006 and led by Susie Troup, the Creative Director and Gil Pugh, the Festival Manager. The Festival has an Advisory Board and works closely with volunteers and freelance specialists to deliver a dynamic and varied programme of events, which now, thanks to The Gillian Dickinson Trust, includes Storyland – a Family Day and Schools’ Fest. The organisation is supported by the staff and management of Queen’s Hall Arts with who we have a strong partnership. The company thrives with thanks to the support of many different sponsors and supporters and Festival Friends.
