Pete Brown – The Apple Orchard: The Story of Our Most English Fruit

Friday 5th May, 2:00pm - 3:00pm

White Room, Queen’s Hall

When Pete Brown started investigating cider, he became obsessed with orchards (and along the way discovered he had a severe allergy to apples). But his Pomona passion over-rode his allergy and thus began a quest to discover more about the fruit that is quintessentially English, yet hails from deep in Asia. Through folklore, myth and modern market forces, he traces the essence of this most magical of fruit.

Includes apple juice and cider tasting.

Chaired by Marian Foster, BBC Newcastle.

This event is now sold out.

Supported by Northumberland Craft Cider.
