A Memoir of Growing Up in the Post-War North

A memoir of what it was like to grow up in the austerity-filled years of rationing and slum clearance after the Second World War by one of this country’s most celebrated journalists. This is no misery memoir of a grim-up-north childhood, but a story of life seasoned with intense  moments of colour, fun and emotion.

Chaired by Lisa Shaw, BBC Newcastle.

Due to high demand the venue has changed to the Theatre, Queen’s Hall.

Sponsored by Nicholson Portnell Solicitors.

£8/£6 (Joint ticket event: with Patrick Wildgust for £14/£10)
