Adam O’Riordan Workshop –Writing Sonnets

Adam’s first poetry collection In the Flesh won a Somerset Maugham  Award in 2011. He is Lecturer in Poetry Writing at Manchester Metropolitan University. In this two part workshop we will look at writing a sonnet, with examples from past and present, poets living and dead. In the second  part we will reflect on narrative and longer poems. How do we start to  tell stories in our poems and how do we do it well?
